2009 American Music Awards Red Carpet Show

By Gordon Lake

We used 8 cameras for the 2009 American Music Awards Red Carpet Show. We went live at 3:30pm pacific time and ended at 5pm during which there was not even 2 seconds of dead air. 3.3 million people watched the red carpet show live.

We began setting up 2 days in advance with camera rehearsals a day before the show so the actual shoot date ran pretty smooth. By 8pm al the trucks were packed up. This was one of the fastest paced shows I’ve ever been involved with.
