Panasonic GH1 has Arrived

Today the first of the Panasonic GH1 cameras arrived. We will be getting 3 of them this month as part of a series of Web Series and Documentary film kits that will include (3) Canon 7D cameras in late fall or early winter and (3) Scarlet cameras in the first quarter of next year.
The Panasonic GH1, like the Canon 5d Mark II and the Nikon D90 that proceeded it, represents a revolution of sorts in that they are digital still photography camera that also shoot high definition video giving you that ‘holy grail’ film look.
These are first generation hybrids so they’re not without issues. But when a shot is done right it can sometimes be breath taking.
Over the coming weeks I’ll post some test shots as we prepare to shoot the pilot episode of ‘Kids on the Porch’ later this month.
